CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

The International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT), initiated by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, has served as a premier platform since 2005. Over the past two decades, ICWMT has been committed to advancing innovative concepts in waste management, promoting technological breakthroughs, and enhancing policy coordination to support sustainable development worldwide.

The ICWMT 21, hosted by Tsinghua University and organized by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, will be held in Shanghai,China from July 4th to 7th, 2026. With a focus on promoting the development of "Zero-waste City" and addressing challenges in solid waste and new pollutants management, the conference will include plenary sessions, 50 sessions, technical tours, and an exhibition. We cordially invite experts and scholars from around the world to join this significant gathering and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and solutions.

 Call for Papers

The conference welcomes submissions of papers, abstracts, and posters related to the conference topics, and paper submission does not preclude later journal publication Accepted papers and abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings and abstract collections respectively, and posters will be displayed during the conference and promoted on the conference website. 15 Excellent papers will be selected and recommend for publication in our supporting journals, with cash prizes and certificates. Additionally, students who submit papers early will have the opportunity to present oral reports at the Student Forum and will receive a presentation certificates.

 Conference Exhibition

To support the "Zero-waste City" initiative and the "Dual Carbon" strategy, and to promote innovation in the solid waste industry, the conference will feature exhibition areas highlighting resource recovery products, various types of solid waste treatment and disposal equipment, automatic pollution control and monitoring systems, and new technologies, equipment, products, and instruments for carbon reduction, carbon capture, carbon conversion, and carbon sequestration.
