Managing Employee leaves, Health Issues, Disability and job Accommodation: A Practical Guide to the ADA, FMLA, Workers
About This Event
Description:
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is probably the most complicated piece of employment legislation ever passed (with the possible exception of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act –but we are still trying to figure this one out). FMLA places the responsibility for compliance on employers. Add the Americans with Disabilities Act, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act, State leave laws and state Workers Compensation requirements into the mix and it creates a new level of stress for most human resources professionals.
This will be a very interactive workshop with open discussions, case studies with real life situations.
Reasons to attend:
What do you do when a person you are about to terminate admits themselves into a mental hospital?
An employee took FMLA for 10 weeks to care for a child injured in a car accident is looking to come back to work but will be needing time off to take care of the child.
An employee lost a part of his foot in an industrial accident and now wants to return to work.
You offer an employee light duty work while recovering from a work related accident. The employee refuses light duty. What are you rights?
Target Audience:
Human Resources Professionals
Managers and administrators responsible for keeping track of leave
Any employer that must comply with Family and Medical Leave
