About This Event

This webinar will help you to develop and implement a cost-effective, yet practical strategy, for Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring consistent with prevailing standards of practice. You will learn how to select the appropriate sampling and analytical methods for your IH monitoring plan.

Why Should You Attend:

This webinar starts with the foundational concepts of dose and exposure pathways. It uses this basic knowledge along with chemical inventory lists and safety data sheets required under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR Part 1910.1200) to identify IH monitoring needs. The health hazard evaluation process is introduced as a means of prioritizing these IH monitoring needs so that an IH monitoring plan can be developed and implemented. This prioritized IH monitoring plan can then be used to identify specific sampling and monitoring needs.

Webinar participants will learn how to match an IH monitoring plan sampling need to the appropriate sampling and analytical method. IH monitoring does not end after sample collection, however. This webinar will include information about selecting appropriate IH analytical laboratories and identifying shipping needs as well as interpretation of the results obtained. Collectively, the content of this webinar will aid in the development of a cost-effective yet practical strategy for IH monitoring consistent with prevailing standards of practice.

All functional groups that have a need to understand the foundations of industrial hygiene, health hazard evaluations and IH sampling / monitoring as well as sample analysis and interpretation of results should participate in this webinar.

Areas Covered in the Seminar:

  • Industrial Hygiene principles and concepts.
  • What are the different measures of dose and their importance?
  • What are the potential exposure pathways and what are their implications for IH sampling / monitoring?
  • How can chemical inventory lists and safety data sheets support the IH monitoring plan?
  • Applying the health hazard evaluation process to prioritize IH monitoring needs.
  • Developing the IH monitoring plan.
  • Finding and applying appropriate sampling and analytical methods.
  • Selection of IH analytical laboratories and sample shipment.
  • Interpreting results.
