Short Course on Sustainable Optimal Engineering DesignLocation: , United KingdomCategory: Engineering and Technology Start Date: 02-04-2025 Last Day: 02-07-2025 Deadline for abstracts: 12-20-2024 There are many reasons why environmental issues should be considered in the design and product development process, for example, to help meet customer and legislative requirements; to strengthen competitive and commercial position; to maintain innovative credibility. Most important of all is to reduce the overall environmental impact of products across their lifecycle.
The course will demonstrate the environmental impacts of bearings in terms of embodied energy (energy consumed during production), carbon footprint, and eco-indicators of bearing range for a variety of application. New bearings designed on the concept of green design include seal technologies (hard seal coatings and surface design);…

Short Course on Airport HubsLocation: , United KingdomCategory: Engineering and Technology Start Date: 03-04-2025 Last Day: 03-06-2025 Deadline for abstracts: 01-13-2025 Airport hubs are geographically well positioned to allow airlines to facilitate efficient connections for passengers.
They are usually located in regions with high population density or where major airlines have a strong presence (typically 40 million passengers a year at the terminal). This allows convenient connections between various destinations, both domestic and international.
Types of airport hubs
Airport hubs can be categorized into different types based on their scale and purpose. The main types of airport hubs are global hubs, regional hubs and low-cost self-connecting hubs. Each type serves a specific function and caters to different travel needs.
Global Hubs…

Short Course on Computer Simulation in TodayLocation: , United KingdomCategory: Engineering and Technology Start Date: 10-21-2025 Last Day: 10-23-2025 Deadline for abstracts: 07-31-2025 Presented by Dr Paolo Zannetti, QEP, President of The EnviroComp Institute, USA and EnviroComp Consulting, Inc., USA
Since the very beginning, in the late 1940s, computers have been used not only for data storage, organization and analysis, but also for simulation and forecasts. For example, the idea of using computer models for weather forecasting was initiated at the US Weather Bureau headquarters in January 1946, and the first operational computer-generated forecasts were issued in May 1955. Since then, the science of computer simulation has expanded exponentially. Today, all fields of science and engineering are investigated via computer simulation, especially those…
