The conference’s aim is to provide an open forum for discussion and reflection about the impact of globalization and migrations on education and health issues. This multidisciplinary research field calls for participation from researchers, professionals, students, public and private institutions, local administrations and any other organization which may be interested in being part of this exchange of experiences and knowledge.

The conference will focus on the development of Internet of Things for Food (IoT4F). Internet of Things is the interconnection of computing devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send and receive data via the Internet. The conference will consider the full food chain from primary production to consumer. The plenary sessions will address industry, academic, regulation / NGO and investment interests in IoT4F, with a focus on: 1.) The aim of this interactive workshop is to introduce and deepen the understanding of brain medicine for non-specialists with the most recent advances in research of neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. Lectures and tutorials by international experts will report the state of the art of research and treatment of brain diseases. Hands-on examples and practical tools and methodologies will be presented during a visit to a laboratory/clinic at Charité Hospital in Berlin.

This workshop aims to provide participants with insights on ethical aspects of dual-use research in neuroscience and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). Lectures will be given by some of the world's leading experts on dual-use in neuroscience research, and by active researchers on RRI.
