Conference Description:

The International Conference on Waste Management and Technology, organized by Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, has been successfully held for nineteen consecutive sessions and has become one of the most important international platforms for policy-industry-academia-research exchanges in the field of solid waste. To promote innovation in China's management of solid waste and emerging pollutants, the The 20th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology will be held in Beijing, China from July 5th to 8th, 2025. It is co-hosted by Tsinghua University, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Iron and Steel Industry Environmental Protection, and the State Key Laboratory of Regional Environment and Sustainability.

This conference is one of the key tasks outlined in the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's "Annual 'Zero-waste City' Construction Work Promotion Plan in 2025". With the theme of "Accelerating the Development of New Quality Productive Forces in Solid Waste and Promoting the Construction of 'Zero-waste City'," the conference aims to advance the high-quality development of 'Zero-waste City' in China and to articulate the Chinese perspective effectively on the global stage. The conference covers 16 themes, including the construction and demonstration of "zero-waste cities" and the management of emerging pollutants. It features a plenary session, 50 parallel sessions, technical visits, and corporate exhibition.
