Make Waves in Medical Education, July 8 – 9, 2024
UC San Diego’s Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion is proud to present the inaugural Compassion in Medical Education (C-MEd) Forum on July 8 – 9, 2024 at the Scripps Seaside Forum. This much-anticipated, two-day event offers a unique opportunity for other schools of medicine (external to UC San Diego) to learn about the Sanford Institute’s innovative empathy and compassion programming and curricula directly from experts, and helps attendees transform learning at their respective institutions.

What attendees can expect:
• Enjoy presentations and panel discussions from UC San Diego experts in empathy and compassion in medical education and healthcare;
• Learn about novel empathy and compassion programs developed at the Sanford Institute, aimed at learners from pre-med to practicing clinicians;
• Hear evaluation results, testimonials of transformation, and how empathy and compassion offerings have been integrated systematically within UC San Diego’s School of Medicine;
• Choose to attend a bonus pre-event workshop, facilitated by Compassion Institute, to develop practical skills in empathy and compassion; and,
• Unite and network with educators, leaders, and health practitioners in the pursuit of enhanced compassion and well-being in medical education and healthcare.
