Conference Description:

The 16th International Conference on Environment-Behavior Studies, Committee of Environment-Behavior of Architectural Society of China?focuses on the rapidly changing social and technological conditions, with the theme of "Environment-Behavior and Future Human Habitat ". Professionals, scholars, and students from different fields such as architecture, planning, landscape, psychology, sociology, and artificial intelligence from various countries are invited to participate in the conference, delving into various related topics and contributing wisdom to achieving a more sustainable, intelligent, resilient, healthy, and inclusive living environment.

Human habitat needs to be more sustainable. The research, education, and design practice of environment-behavior can enable us to understand the way humans use resources and their impact on other species, explore how environmental design can support more sustainable lifestyles, and address the enormous challenges faced by the global and regional ecological environment and resources, achieving the healthy development of the entire ecosystem and life system.

Human habitat needs to be more intelligent. The research, education, and design practice of environment-behavior can help us understand how new technologies affect human behavior and experience, and explore how to achieve smarter and more humane living environments through data analysis, machine learning, and virtual reality.

Human habitat needs to better manage risks and improve adaptability. The research, education, and design practice of environment-behavior can enable us to understand human behavioral responses in disaster events, explore how to achieve safer and more resilient living environments through resilience design theories, methods, and technologies to cope with the impact of natural and man-made disasters, epidemics, and other factors on humanity.

Human habitat needs to better promote physical and mental health and well-being. The research, education, and design practice of environment-behavior can help us understand how natural and built environments affect human health, and explore how to achieve more therapeutic and supportive living environments through design.

Human habitat needs to consider and respect the diversity of human physiological, spiritual, cognitive, and socio-cultural aspects more. The research, education, and design practice of environment-behavior can help us understand the behavior patterns, needs, and preferences of different groups, and explore how to achieve more inclusive and diverse living environments through cross-border cooperation with other disciplines in design.

Environment-behavior studies provides us with important frameworks, tools, and evidence to understand the relationship between humans and the environment. Emerging technologies will help environmental behaviorists better collect, analyze, and understand environmental and human data, thus providing the possibility for more effective design interventions.

CEB-ASC 2024 will include feature keynote and multi-topic parallel sessions from distinguished practitioners, researchers, educators. Representatives from Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA), International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS), Man-Environment Research Association (MERA), etc. are on an ongoing invitation. We sincerely invite professionals, scholars, and students from all over the world related to the field of Environment-behavior to contribute and attend the conference.
