Preamble
In the past two decades, we have witnessed both precedent and unprecedented changes in the political and socio-economical aspects of all societies across the globe. Such changes in Hong Kong are very visible and have direct bearing on education and human development. With the changing demographic composition of students and their distribution geographically, there are noticeable achievement gaps and uneven access to post-secondary education between the privileged and the underprivileged that warrant deliberated education reforms, policy and advocacy. The quest for promoting equity, facilitating access and affirming diversity in increasingly interconnected, and pluralistic learning environments is of growing concern. The global education agenda, aspirations for learning equity, and enhanced social justice in education entail significant implications on pedagogy and teacher education across the educational landscape. This Conference will provide invaluable space and a platform for researchers, educators, practitioners, and policy makers from different parts of the world to discuss and address some of these key issues.
