Conference Description:
The next of our exciting series of EngTalks is to be delivered by the RAF's Air Marshal Julian Young. He will discuss his vision of the RAF of 2118 - including the technologies but also crucially the people that will fundamentally alter the meaning of 'aircraft' as we know it.What could the future hold? Projects in development right now include:
- High-altitude aircraft equipped with solar panels which mean they can stay airborne at 70,000 feet, avoiding radar for months at a time?
- Robot, AI drones which are capable of making instantaneous decisions and operate autonomously...that can be grown in a lab?
- Or perhaps hybrid air-breathing rocket engines that can power an aircraft over five times the speed of sound?
Julia Sutcliffe, Head of Engineering - Training Services, BAE Systems - Air will be giving a fascinating Insight talk on Air Sector Technology: Is the sky still the limit?
The talk will explore innovations and technologies of Industry 4.0 that will enable the future Air Sector products and services and how our customers are expanding from control of the air into wider control of other domains including Information, Space and Cyber.
All our EngTalks are free to attend and are followed by a networking drinks reception and a showcase of interesting exhibits.
